Mizzou Men’s Golf Wraps up Fall Season in Hawaii

Tigers tie for ninth at Hoakalei CC Invitational
'Ewa Beach, Hawaii – Mizzou Men's Golf wrapped up its final tournament of the fall season on Wednesday, finishing tied for ninth at the Hoakalei Country Club Collegiate Invitational. The Tigers posted scores of 292, 281, and 292 to shoot a 1-over 865 for the week. The second-round 281 (7-under) tied for the best single-day score of Mizzou's season.
Freshman Ross Steelman (Columbia, Mo.) placed in the Top-20 for the third time this season, claiming sole position of 18th. He carded scores of 70, 67, and 76 to shoot a 3-under 213 for the tournament. Steelman was tied for the lead through eight holes on the final day after firing three straight birdies. The freshman finished ahead of five nationally-ranked individuals en route to the Top-20 performance.
Senior Rory Franssen (Inverness, Scotland) tied for 25th with a 3-day score of 215 (1-under). It was Franssen's fourth straight Top-25 finish and third straight tournament under par. His final round 71 was his eighth round under par this year, the most of any Tiger golfer.
Senior Ricky Sanders (The Hague, Netherlands) got things rolling on the final day, making five birdies on his way to a 1-under 71. He finished tied for 45th on the week, shooting a 218 (2-over).
Freshman Viktor Einarsson (Reykjavik, Iceland) competed as an individual and tied for 52nd. His middle-round 70 featured five birdies and led him to a 3-over 219 for the tournament.
Freshman Yu Ta Tsai (Taipei, Taiwan) made his first collegiate start this week. He shot 77, 74 and 74, respectively, on his way to a 3-day score of 225 (9-over). It was the best tournament score of his young career.
Junior Jack Parker (Columbia, Mo.) tied for 73rd after shooting a 7-over 223. On Tuesday, Parker carded a 3-under 69, the best round of his season and second-best of his career.
