Beijer Leads Way with Tie for 22nd Individually
The Mizzou Women's Golf Team wrapped up play Monday with the final round of the 2019 Jim West Challenge, played at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas. The Tigers shot a team round of 298 today, but couldn't make up ground on the field, and finished in 15th place overall.
Junior Noelle Beijer (Assendelft, The Netherlands) led the way for Mizzou with an even-par 72 on Monday, which gave her a three-round total of 213 (68-73-72). She ended the tournament in a tie for 22nd place - her fourth top-25 finish in as many tournaments since joining the team this summer.
Freshman Sophia Yoemans (Red Wing, Minn.) tied for 43rd place, after her third-round 76 left her with a 219 total for 54 holes. Yoemans toured the back nine in even-par Monday, thanks to a pair of birdies.
Fellow freshman Bri Bolden (Mokena, Ill.) was next among Tiger finishers, tying for 56th overall. Bolden matched Yoemans with a four-over 76 in Monday's final round, and ended the tournament with a 224 total for 54 holes (71-77-76).
Senior Cherise Otter (Bloomington, Ind.) matched her best round of the tournament Monday, closing with a three-over par 75 to tie for 66th place.
Sophomore Julia Bower (Columbia, Mo.) tied her season-best round with a three-over 75 Monday to close the Jim West Challenge in a tie for 72nd place individually with a 54-hole total of 230.
The Tigers will have 10 days off before they wrap up their 2019 fall season at the Battle at the Beach, to be held Nov. 1-3 in Cabo, Mexico.
