Mizzou’s freshmen combine for 25 points in the loss

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Men's Basketball was defeated on the road by Auburn, 92-58, on Wednesday night at Auburn Arena. An 8-0 run during the first half led by freshman guard Torrence Watson and sophomore forward Jeremiah Tilmon kept Mizzou within striking distance in a back-and-forth battle heading to the intermission. However, Auburn's 3-point attack caught fire in the opening minutes of the second half, sparking a 19-4 run that stretched its lead and Mizzou did not recover.

TURNING POINT

Mizzou trailed 31-34 at halftime after Watson led the Tigers with 10 points on a 2-of-4 clip from distance. Meanwhile, Tilmon established an inside presence behind a perfect 4-of-4 mark from the field and eight first-half points. However, Auburn stormed out of the locker room with a 30-8 run in the opening minutes of the second half. The home team was able to cruise to a comfortable victory behind 11 second-half triples.
