No. 21 Mizzou Volleyball Tallies Saturday Sweep over Kansas City

No. 21 Mizzou Volleyball (7-0) produced a straight-set victory (25-12, 25-19, 25-23) over Kansas City Saturday afternoon in day two of the Tiger Invitational. The Tigers' offense recorded 47 kills on .526 hitting against the Roos, ranking tied for sixth all-time in single-match team hitting percentage.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 21 Mizzou Volleyball (7-0) produced a straight-set victory (25-12, 25-19, 25-23) over Kansas City Saturday afternoon in day two of the Tiger Invitational. The Tigers' offense recorded 47 kills on .526 hitting against the Roos, ranking tied for sixth all-time in single-match team hitting percentage.

Highlighting Mizzou's offensive explosion was an 18 kills on .900 hitting output in set two. The Tigers didn't commit a single attack error in the incredible offensive set. Overall this season, Mizzou has eclipsed .500 hitting in a match an impressive three times already.

 "We were in rhythm a lot today and getting a lot of great first balls. Andrea (Fuentes) once again did a great job giving our attackers some great looks. Having five attackers hitting .400-plus with limited errors is very impressive. We got one more match to go this weekend. Boise State has played well too so we'll have a great test in front of us."

  • Deberg continued her consistent offensive production Saturday. She now has 14-plus kills in all seven matches played this season, including .300-plus hitting in six of seven contests.
  • Omazic's incredible efficiency continued as well against the Roos. The Kansas City, Missouri, native has now produced eight-plus kills on .450-plus hitting in all seven matches this season.
  • Saturday's performance versus Kansas City marked Omazic's third .600-plus hitting match of the year.
  • Member-Meneh has also been steady on the Mizzou attack, producing eight-plus kills for the seventh consecutive outing. Additionally, the St. Louis, Missouri, native has hit .400-plus in five of seven contests.
