COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball has been named a recipient of the 2018-19 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, announced Tuesday by the organization.

Mizzou is only one of 50 Division I programs to receive the high academic honor. The Tigers flourished in the classroom this past school year, recording a cumulative 3.04 GPA. Head Coach Steve Bieser's squad opened the academic calendar strong with a group 3.12 GPA over the fall 2018 semester.

This past school year, 22 Tiger student-athletes exceeded a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Countless individuals were recognized for their academic prowess in 2018-19, highlighted by 10 recipients on the 2019 Spring Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll and 11 recipients on the 2019 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Programs from every level of college and high school baseball were recognized with this year's Team Academic Excellence Award, which highlights programs coach by ABCA members that posted a grade point average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2018-19 academic year.
