SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Mizzou Track & Field incoming-freshman Skylar Ciccolini (Lewistown, Pa.) and sophomore Ava Curry (Liberty, Mo.) each won medals on Sunday at the U20 PanAmerican Championships in Costa Rica. Ciccolini won a silver medal for a runner-up performance, while Curry finished third to win bronze.
Ciccolini finished second to win a silver medal with a mark of 53.58m (175-9.25), trailing only Eucador's Yuleisy Angulo who produced a mark of 58.96m 193-5.25). Ciccolini's mark would rank second on Mizzou's all-time top-10 list if she had been competing for Mizzou. Curry finished third at the meet with a mark of 47.67m (156-4.75) to capture bronze. It was the fifth time Curry has surpassed 47m during the 2019 outdoor season.
