COLUMBIA, Mo. – Head Coach Bryan Blitz and the Mizzou soccer team announced its 2019 schedule on Friday. The slate is highlighted by 12 home contests and regular season matchups with seven teams that qualified for the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
The squad first hits the pitch for tor two road exhibition matches at the beginning of August. They face 2018 College Cup participants Stanford on Sunday, Aug. 11 before a match at Colorado State on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
The Tigers officially start the 2019 season at home at Walton Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 22 against Southern Miss. Mizzou then heads to Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday, Aug. 25 to take on Ohio State, which played in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Mizzou returns to Walton Stadium for a six-match homestand. The team begin the stretch against Cincinnati on Thursday, Aug. 29, followed by a match against Xavier on Sunday, Sept. 1. Games against Murray State (Thursday, Sept. 5) and Loyola Chicago (Sunday, Sept. 8) send the Tigers into the following weekend, when they conclude the non-conference slate with Cal State Fullerton (Friday, Sept. 13) and Northern Colorado (Sunday, Sept. 15).
Missouri opens its 10-match SEC schedule on Friday, Sept. 20 in a contest at Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss. The Rebels advanced to the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament before falling to Stanford.
The Tigers then continue league action with a road match in Gainesville, Fla., on Thursday, Sept. 26 against Florida before a home contest on Sunday, Sept. 29 against Georgia.
Three-straight games against NCAA Tournament teams are then next for the Tigers, led by a home match against South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 4. Missouri next heads to Nashville, Tenn., to take on Vanderbilt on Thursday, Oct. 10 before a matchup with Tennessee on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Walton Stadium.
After the Tigers face Kentucky on Friday, Oct. 18 in Lexington, Ky., Mizzou returns home to host Alabama at Walton Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 24. The squad then travels to College Station, Texas, for a matchup with Texas A&M on Sunday, Oct. 27.
The Tigers close the regular season home against Mississippi State on Thursday, Oct. 31.
