AUSTIN, Texas – Mizzou Track & Field opened up competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday, as senior Becky Keating (Reading, England) finished 22nd in the hammer throw. With her finish, Keating earns NCAA All-America Honorable Mention honors.
NOTABLE FINISHES
Keating placed 22nd with a throw of 58.89m (193-2) to close her 2019 outdoor season and earn All-America Honorable Mention honors. Keating's senior campaign included a fourth-place finish at the SEC Outdoor Championship (May 10), where she posted a mark of 61.52m (201-10), and a season-best performance at the Texas Relays (March 28) where she recorded a throw of 61.88m (203-0). Keating's personal record mark of 63.87m (209-6), which she posted at the 2018 CMU Open (March 17), ranks third all-time in program history.

Mizzou will continue with the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday with three student-athletes in competition. Redshirt sophomore Sophia Rivera (Brentwood, Mo.) will compete in the javelin at 2:30 p.m. CT after the event was pushed back a day due to two weather delays. Freshman Roberto Vilches (Mexico City, Mexico) will compete in the high jump at 7:00 p.m. CT, while freshman Georgi Nachev (Yambol, Bulgaria) will compete in the triple jump at 7:40 p.m. CT.
