COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou swimming and diving associate head coach Mark Gangloff has resigned his position with the Tigers to accept the head coaching position at the University of North Carolina.

In seven seasons on staff, Gangloff helped the Tiger men and women post 10 Top 15 finishes at the NCAA Championships, including a pair of Top 10 performances. The men's program claimed placements of eighth in 2016 and ninth in 2017, while the 2016 women's team finished a program-best 11th. A total of 54 swimmers earned All-America honors during his tenure with Mizzou, including Fabian Scwingenschogl, who won the first NCAA title in program history in the 100 breast in 2016.

"I'm very excited for Mark, Ashley and the entire Gangloff family," Mizzou interim head coach Andrew Grevers said. "Mark has made a tremendous impact on our program over the past seven years, and now he gets to impact lives at UNC. I look forward to watching all of his future successes, and even though he will be sorely missed, we wish him all the best as he embarks on this great opportunity."
