WICHITA, Kan. – Mizzou Track & Field opened up its outdoor season at the Herm Wilson Invitational on Friday, as the Tigers recorded six event wins and three program top-10 marks. Redshirt junior Jordan McClendon (Black Jack, Mo.) picked up right where she left off in the indoor season, as she produced the second-best hammer throw mark in program history.
NOTABLE FINISHES
McClendon won the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 65.68m (215-6), as she moved to No. 2 all-time at Mizzou. She only trails Kearsten Peoples' 2015 mark of 66.17m (217-1). Redshirt junior CeCe Johnson (St. Louis, Mo.) also produced a top-10 program mark in the hammer throw, as she finished fourth with a mark of 56.27m (184-7), the 10th-best mark all-time at Mizzou.
In the women's 3000m steeplechase, redshirt sophomore Melissa Menghini (Fenton, Mo.) ran the seventh-fastest time all-time at Mizzou with a first place finish at 10:42.26.
Also producing first-place finishes on the day for Mizzou was redshirt junior Thomas George (Gloucester, England) in the 3000m run, redshirt sophomore Justin Loquercio (Mt. Prospect, Ill.) in the 5000m run, redshirt junior Jordyn Kleve (Urbandale, Iowa) in the 5000m run and redshirt senior Avery Carter (Lee's Summit, Mo.) in the hammer throw.

Mizzou continues with competition Saturday in Wichita, as field events begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by open running events at 2:00 p.m.
