The Tigers tee off at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday
VALENTINE, Neb. - Mizzou Men's Golf hits the road this weekend, turning its attention to The Jackrabbit hosted by South Dakota State. The Tigers will travel to the Prairie Club (Par 72, 7,726 yards) in Valentine, Nebraska, to compete against 13 teams including Central Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri State, North Dakota, Omaha, SIUE, South Dakota State, UMKC, Wichita State, Hutchinson CC and Indian Hills CC.
Leading Mizzou is sophomore Jamie Stewart (Renfrewshire, Scotland), who recently broke The Club at Old Hawthorne's course record, shooting 11-under-par 61 in a practice round. Stewart has shot under-par in four of his six rounds this season and is looking to add more to his resume this weekend.
Senior Matt Echelmeier (Columbia, Mo.) sits in the second spot for the Black & Gold after coming off a strong final two rounds at the Northern Intercollegiate. Last season, Echelmeier placed 11th at The Jackrabbit with the best tournament performance of his career (72-69-68 -- 209).
Juniors Ricky Sanders and Rory Franssen and freshman Tommy Boone will round out the Tigers' lineup at The Jackrabbit. This will be Franssen's third time competing in The Jackrabbit, where he boasts his 18-hole career-low, a 4-under 68. Boone will be competing in this first career event as a Tiger this weekend.
Live results throughout The Jackrabbit will be available on GolfStat.com during the event here.
