@MizzouMensGolf Wraps Up Jackrabbit, Captures Sixth Consecutive Top-5 Finish in Regular Season Tournament

Mizzou finished fifth at the tournament in Valentine, Neb.
VALENTINE, Neb. – Mizzou Men's Golf wrapped up The Jackrabbit on Tuesday, finishing fifth overall with a 14-over par 878 (288-297-293). The Tigers cemented their sixth consecutive Top-5 finish in a regular season tournament with the performance at the event hosted by South Dakota State.
Mizzou shot a 5-over par 293 as a team in Tuesday's final round led by senior Matt Echelmeier's 3-under par 69. Echelmeier catapulted 24 spots up the leaderboard with his strong play down the stretch to tie for 39th. He has five under-par rounds now this season.
Sophomore Jamie Stewart led Mizzou individually for the third consecutive tournament, tying for 12th with a 1-over par 217. Stewart has finished in the Top 20 in all three tournaments thus far during the 2018-19 campaign.
Juniors Rory Franssen and Ricky Sanders each tied for 20th individually with identical 4-over par 220s. Franssen and Sanders were both paced by solid opening rounds on Sunday as Franssen carded a 2-under 70 and Sanders shot a 1-under 71.
Playing in his first career tournament, freshman Tommy Boone moved up seven spots on the leaderboard in Tuesday's final round. Boone shot a career-best 3-over par 75, racking up three birdies during his last 18 holes.
