@MizzouTennis Set to Host Seventh Annual Mizzou Invite This Weekend

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou tennis team opens fall action this weekend with the seventh annual Mizzou Invite, held Friday, Sept. 14-Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. The Tigers welcome Denver, Memphis and Wichita State for the tournament, which has no dual format, but rather individual singles players and doubles pairings will match up with opponents from each program. Admission to all matches is free.

Mizzou opens play at the Invite at 2 p.m. on Friday against doubles teams from Wichita State, before facing individuals from Memphis in singles at 3:30 p.m. Doubles action opens Saturday competition, with Mizzou facing off against teams from Memphis starting at 10 a.m. The Tigers then take on Denver players in singles at 2 p.m. The tournament concludes Sunday with doubles action at 10 a.m., where Mizzou plays Denver's doubles teams. Mizzou then finishes action at 2 p.m. against singles players from Wichita State.

The 2018-19 Missouri squad features six returners from a year ago and three newcomers, junior transfer Gabrielle Goldin and freshmen Vivien Abraham and Lisa Fukutoku.

Following the Mizzou Invite, the Tigers travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to play in the Big 5 Challenge, Sept. 21-23, at TCU.
