COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 7 Missouri Wrestling travels to Norfolk, Va., this Sunday to take on Old Dominion in its first MAC matchup of the season. The meet is scheduled to start at noon (CT), and will be streamed through Old Dominion's website.
Mizzou looks to capture its first conference victory of the season and continue a regular season win streak of 20 straight duals that dates back to February of 2017. The Tigers are 6-0 against the Monarchs in the all-time series, which dates back to the Mizzou's transition to the Mid-American Conference in 2013.
Mizzou is coming off a dominant win over No. 16 Illinois last weekend, where several wrestlers recorded bonus-point victories. Redshirt sophomore Jaydin Eierman recorded an impressive overtime victory over No. 8 ranked Mike Carr of Illinois. Daniel Lewis, a redshirt junior, landed a pin over his opponent for his 38th pin of his career.
The Tigers keep five wrestlers ranked in the top-25, including Eierman who comes in ranked third, while Lewis and redshirt sophomore Grant Leeth stay put at No. 4 in their respective weight classes. Freshmen Cameron Valdiviez and Allan Hart both have the opportunity for their Mizzou debut Sunday.
The Monarchs have a handful of wrestlers ranked in the top-25. No. 7 ranked Sa'Derian Perry is set to faceoff against Eierman, for a top-10 matchup. No. 11 Larry Early is slated to wrestle at 157, and 125-pounder Michael McGee is ranked No. 18.
