Tigers picked by league’s coaches to capture seventh straight MAC title
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling was picked to win its seventh consecutive Mid-American Conference Championship, announced Wednesday by the MAC office. The Tigers garnered 27.0 points in the preseason standings, which are based on the rankings of each individual weight class. In all, Mizzou had six grapplers picked atop their respective weight classes in the preseason rankings. Mizzou has won the last six MAC Championships and seven straight titles, dating back to the program's final year in the Big 12.
The following Mizzou wrestlers were picked to win their respective weight classes this year:
- 133 Pounds – John Erneste
- 141 Pounds – Jaydin Eierman
- 149 Pounds – Grant Leeth
- 165 Pounds – Connor Flynn
- 174 Pounds – Daniel Lewis
- 184 Pounds – Canten Marriott
Additionally, Wyatt Koelling was picked to finish third at 197 pounds and Austin Myers was selected fourth at heavyweight.
