Jonesborough, Tennessee – Mizzou Men's Golf shot a 4-under par 284 on day two of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate and holds steady at fifth place. The Tigers are now at 11-under for the tournament, 16 strokes back of the leader East Tennessee State.
Sophomore Jamie Stewart, who has led Mizzou at all three tournaments thus far during the fall campaign, shot eight spots up the leaderboard on day two of action at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Stewart fired a 3-under par 69 for the second consecutive round and now sits tied at eighth individually. The sophomore rode a strong start on Saturday as he racked up five birdies on the front nine to make the turn at 5-under.
Junior Rory Franssen also fired a 3-under par 69 on Saturday, anchored by an eagle on the Par-5 eighth hole. Franssen added five birdies to round out an impressive 18 holes. He moved up seven spots on the leaderboard to grab a tie for 15th heading into the final day of play.
Fellow junior Ricky Sanders shot a 1-under 71 to slide up to a tie for 39th. He and senior Matt Echelmeier are both at even par through 36 holes. Mizzou's final competitor Jack Parker is tied for 75th at 8-over par.
