ITA CENTRAL REGIONAL SITE | LIVE VIDEO

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team continues fall competition as the program travels to Iowa City, Iowa, this week for the 2018 ITA Central Regional Championships, held Oct. 12-16 at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex. 

The singles and doubles tournament features 27 total programs and over 160 student-athletes. Other teams sending participants to the Central Regional include Arkansas, Arkansas State, Bradley, Creighton, Drake, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, UMKC, Missouri State, Nebraska, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, SLU, Southeast Missouri State, Southern Illinois, South Dakota, Tulsa, Western Illinois and Wichita State. 

LAST TIME OUT

At the Big 5 Challenge two weeks ago freshman Lisa Fukutoku highlighted Tiger action with a win in her singles flight. She knocked off No. 46 Lauryn John-Baptiste, 6-4, 6-1, to claim the flight with a perfect 3-0 record at the Challenge. Overall, Fukutoku has 5-0 singles mark during the fall. 

Additionally, junior Mackenzy Middlebrooks went 3-1 at the Challenge, including a win over No. 111 Margot Decker of Kansas State, to improve to 5-1 in the fall. 

UP NEXT

Following Regionals, Mizzou will compete at the Missouri State Invite, Oct. 26-28, in Springfield, Mo.
