COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball opened its 2018 Fall Ball schedule this past weekend at Taylor Stadium with a Friday evening Black & Gold intersquad and Saturday afternoon exhibition against Illinois State.

Team Black and Team Gold began with a 5-5 tie in nine innings Friday, while the Tigers and Redbirds competed in an 18-inning contest with a slew of players earning appearances on the mound and in the field in the weekend finale.

Hear From Head Coach Steve Bieser

On week one of Fall Ball action…

"We had an opportunity to see many players compete against outside competition. Overall, it was a good couple of days as the focus was on evaluating our players as well as teaching them the value of having to play clean baseball to compete at the Division I level. I'm looking forward to a good week of practice and getting the opportunity to compete again this Friday and Saturday with another Black & Gold intersquad and exhibition versus SLU. We also have our family weekend that starts Friday night at 6:30 p.m., with game two of our intersquad series. First pitch against the Billikens is set for 1 p.m."
