Story Lines

  • Head coach Cuonzo Martin has brought in a strong defensive philosophy, as Mizzou ranks 27th nationally in field goal percentage (.398), 50th in scoring margin (10.6) and 55th in scoring defense (66.5).
  • Martin was head coach at Tennessee for three seasons (2011-12 to 2013-14), leading the Volunteers to the school's most recent NCAA Tournament berth and one of its seven Sweet 16 appearances in 2013-14.
  • Mizzou's offense has done it's share, as the Tigers' 164 three-pointers rank as the most in school history through 17 games, ahead of the 1999-2000 season's 155. Mizzou sank 147 triples in 17 games in 2001-02.
  • The Tigers are shooting 44.6 percent from three-point territory during conference play to rank first in the SEC. Mizzou ranks second in the league from the free throw line (.816) in league action.
  • Graduate senior guard Kassius Robertson has averaged 16.0 points per game overall, but against SEC foes, Robertson's scoring average jumps up to 19.0 points per game -- ranking second in the conference.
  • Robertson had his best game to-date as a Tiger, as he scored a season-high 26 points at Arkansas (Jan. 13) and posted season-bests in field goals made (9), three-pointers (6), rebounds (8) and steals (3).
  • Senior forward Jordan Barnett is averaging 18.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game over the Tigers' last 12 games. In that stretch, Barnett has scored in double-figures in 11-of-12 games and is converting 52.0 percent of his field goal attempts (65-125 FG) and 49.3 percent of his three-pointers (36-73 3PT).
  • Barnett recorded his fourth double-double of the season (and fifth of his Mizzou career) with 12 points and 10 rebounds at Arkansas. Barnett's four double-doubles this season rank tied for fourth in the SEC.
  • Freshman forward Jontay Porter is one of just three players nationally to have compiled both 35 assists (36) and 35 blocks (38) this season, according to Basketball-Reference.com.

Scouting Tennessee

  • No. 21 Tennessee visits Mizzou Arena for its matchup with the Tigers after winning three-straight Southeastern Conference games after starting league play 0-2.
  • Third-year head coach Rick Barnes has Tennessee out to a 12-4 start overall, with the Volunteers picking up road wins at Georgia Tech (Dec. 3, 77-70), at Wake Forest (Dec. 23, 79-60) and at Vanderbilt (Jan. 9, 92-84) thus far in their 2017-18 campaign.
  • Sophomore forward Grant Williams and junior forward Admiral Schofield have led the Volunteers during SEC action, scoring 19.6 points and 16.6 points per game, respectively. Schofield has pulled down 7.8 rebounds per game in Tennessee's first five league contests.
  • Tennessee has averaged 84.0 points per game in five conference games, while allowing 80.0 points per game to its opponents.

Notes From The Arkansas Game

  • Mizzou sank 11 three-pointers against Arkansas, which was the 12th time this season and third time in the last four games the Tigers have made at least 10 triples.
  • Graduate senior guard Kassius Robertson scored a season-high 26 points, playing his best game as a Tiger to-date, setting season-highs for field goals (nine), three-pointers (six), rebounds (eight) and steals (three). The effort was his fifth 20-point game of the season and 19th of his career.
  • Robertson converted on 6-of-11 attempts from beyond the three-point arc; the 14th time this season and the 77th time in his career he has made multiple three-pointers. The six threes is the fifth time this season and 21st time in his career he has made at least five threes in a game.
  • Senior forward Jordan Barnett recorded his fifth career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four of Barnett's five career doubles have occurred this season.

Kash Money

  • Graduate senior guard Kassius Robertson is averaging a stout 16.0 points per game, a total that ranks No. 1 among graduate transfers playing at the high major level. That total stands at fifth-best overall among all graduate transfers across the entire NCAA Division I level.

  • Robertson has connected on multiple three-pointers in seven-straight games, and recorded his 77th career game with multiple three-pointers with six against the Razorbacks (Jan. 13).
  • Robertson is shooting 43.8 percent (53-of-121) from deep, which would be the highest mark by a Tiger since Kim English shot 45.9 percent in 2011-12.

Martin at Tennessee

  • Head coach Cuonzo Martin has taken three different schools to postseason play, including Tennessee, which Martin led from 2011-12 to 2013-14.
  • Martin led the Volunteers to a 63-41 overall record and to their most recent NCAA Tournament appearance, a run that started in the NCAA's First Four in Dayton, Ohio, and ended in the Sweet 16.
  • The 2013-14 Volunteers' roster featured future NBA talent including 2014 draftees Jordan McRae and Jarnell Stokes, along with current Miami Heat standout Josh Richardson.

  • Graduate senior guard Kassius Robertson  became the first Tiger to score 20 points or more in three consecutive games since the 2013-14 season after his 23-point game at South Carolina (Jan. 3). Robertson scored 22 vs. Illinois (Dec. 23) and 23 vs. Stephen F. Austin (Dec. 19).
  • Senior forward Jordan Barnett ranks sixth nationally in free throw percentage, hitting on 48-of-52 from the charity striple (92.3).
  • Barnett also leads the SEC in minutes played per conference game (37.0). Robertson leads the league in overall minutes played, averaging 33.4.
  • Barnett's four double-doubles thus far in 2017-18 rank tied for fourth-most in the Southeastern Conference. Georgia's Yante Maten (7) and Vanderbilt's Jeff Roberson (6) hold the No. 1 and No. 2 positions in the SEC.
