COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball and Mizzou Softball will team up for the second straight year to benefit the University of Missouri Tiger Pantry with another five-inning, fast-pitch charity softball game. Mizzou Softball Stadium will host the unique event on Sept. 29 with first pitch set for 4 p.m.

Mizzou fans wishing to attend the game can bring canned food donations or cash donations. 100 percent of the day's donations will directly benefit the Tiger Pantry. Founded in 2012, the Tiger Pantry strives to provide food assistance for those in need within the University of Missouri community. The Tiger Pantry is a partner agency of The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.

"This event is so much fun, as our players and staff really enjoyed the game and atmosphere last year," Mizzou Baseball head coach Steve Bieser said. "Even more importantly with this unique contest is the cause behind it and supporting our local food bank."

"This is a great opportunity for Mizzou Baseball and Mizzou Softball to join as one to help such an amazing organization as Tiger Pantry," Mizzou Softball head coach Larissa Anderson said. "It's important for our programs to help out those in need and this is a fun event that can impact so many families and lives."

Last October, the first-ever charity softball game took place and saw over 300 pounds of food donated. Over a thousand Tiger fans were in attendance, as Mizzou Softball took top honors over Mizzou Baseball with a 7-2 victory.
