Mizzou Men's Golf wrapped up the opening round of The Jackrabbit in Valentine, Neb., on Sunday, sitting in third after 18 holes. The Tigers shot even par (288), only seven strokes behind first-place UCF.
Junior Rory Franssen (Inverness, Scotland) led the charge for Mizzou on Sunday. Franssen is currently tied for fourth place on the player leaderboard at 2-under par. He has now carded three rounds of 70 or better this season.
Sophomore Jamie Stewart (Renfrewshire, Scotland) and junior Ricky Sanders (The Hague, Netherlands) are each tied for sixth after a pair of 1-under par rounds. Freshman Tommy Boone, competing in his first career tournament, is currently scoring for Mizzou at 4-over par. He is tied for 36th overall. Senior Matt Echelmeier shot a 7-over par on Monday.
