#ShowMe Top Performers vs. Xavier

Hear From Head Coach Wayne Kreklow

On opening the weekend with a victory…

"I was pleased overall with tonight's play. We looked much improved over last weekend. We had a couple of good practices this week and we were able to carry that into tonight's match. Xavier is a tough out. They play great defense and extend rallies. Their hitters look for hands and score a lot of points off the block, which all were areas where we struggled last week. It was a great start to the weekend, but the final two matches will be very tough as well."

#MIZ Takeaways

  • For the second consecutive match, Mizzou eclipsed double-digit total blocks. The Tigers' 11.0 total stops at the net Friday marked a new season high.
  • Munlyn and Tyanna Omazic led the way individually, posting six and five total blocks, respectively.
  • Deberg has tallied double-digit kills in her first four career matches at Mizzou. The Hudson, Iowa, native's 12 kills this evening marked a new career-high. Deberg's 16.5 points against the Musketeers also re-established a new career-best.
  • Playing in front of a bevy of family and friends, Fuentes recorded a career-high 20 assists to pace Tiger setters. Also playing back home in Puerto Rico, Hollingsworth had another efficient offensive night, surpassing .300 hitting for the third time in four overall matches this year.
