COLUMBIA, Mo. – Due to player safety concerns and cold wind chill temperatures in the Mid-Missouri area Sunday, Mizzou Softball and No. 8 Auburn's series finale has been cancelled. The game will not be rescheduled.
Despite Sunday's cancellation, Mizzou enjoyed a fantastic two-day stretch this weekend with consecutive victories yesterday over the nationally ranked Tigers. The two-game series sweep secured Mizzou's first Southeastern Conference series win this year.
It also marked Mizzou's first series triumph over a nationally ranked top 10 opponent since March 31 - April 2, 2017, a season ago against No. 9 Alabama in Columbia, Missouri.
Up next, Mizzou travels east for a weekend series at No. 11 South Carolina. The series opener is scheduled for Friday, April 20, with first pitch at 4:30 p.m. CT. The matchup between the Tigers and Gamecocks will air live on SEC Network.
