Tigers set to begin 11th consecutive trip to NCAA postseason play

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball (29-26, 7-16 SEC) begins its 11th consecutive NCAA Regional on Friday (May 19) in Eugene, Ore. The second seeded Tigers will meet third seed Wisconsin (33-15, 11-11 Big Ten) in their opening round matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT inside Jane Sanders Stadium.
Mizzou's opening game against Wisconsin will broadcast live on ESPN. Saturday and Sunday's potential matchups will also air live on ESPN's family of networks.
Joining the Tigers and Badgers this weekend will be No. 1 seed and Regional host Oregon (47-6, 17-6 Pac-12) and No. 4 seed Illinois-Chicago (38-20, 20-4 Horizon).

Mizzou NCAA Bound for 11th Straight Year
- Mizzou was named to its 11th consecutive NCAA Regional, announced Sunday (May 14) evening by the NCAA Division I Softball Selection Committee.
- Beginning with head coach Ehren Earleywine's first campaign in Mid-Missouri (2007), the Tigers have made NCAA postseason play in each season.
- The Tigers' decade-plus stretch of postseason play also includes 14 NCAA Tournament bids in the past 15 seasons (2003-05, 07-17).
- Under Coach Earleywine, Mizzou has advanced to NCAA Super Regionals eight times (2008-13, 15-16) and the Women's College World Series three times (2009-11).
- Earleywine's squads have been lights out in NCAA Regional action since 2007, accumulating an outstanding 29-6 (.829) record.
- This year's trip to Eugene, Ore., snaps Mizzou's streak of hosting NCAA Regionals in Columbia, Mo., at eight consecutive seasons (2009-16).
- The Tigers' last road trip to an NCAA Regional occurred in 2008, when they visited Iowa City, Iowa. Mizzou took care of business with a perfect 3-0 weekend stretch, securing its first-ever NCAA Super Regional bid in program history.

- With this weekend's trip to Eugene, Mizzou's 15 upperclassmen have now tallied between one-three NCAA Tournament bids in their respective black and gold careers.
