Series Snapshot
- LSU leads the all-time series over Mizzou, 9-6.
- In the teams' last meeting, LSU claimed a 9-0 victory over Mizzou in Columbia, Mo. (April 27, 2015).
- In the last three-game series (April 25-27, 2015), Mizzou took two of three games over LSU at University Field.
Mizzou Possesses One of Nation's Toughest Schedules
- To say the Tigers have played a tough schedule this season is an understatement. Overall, Mizzou has competed in a whopping 22 games against nationally ranked opponents, including 14 matchups versus top 10 foes.
- The loaded SEC has been relentless on Mizzou this year, as all 24 games within the conference have/will come against top 25 nationally ranked opponents.
- Despite a "down" year for Mizzou Softball standards under Coach Earleywine's tenure, the Tigers have still tallied a number of impressive victories this season. In fact, Mizzou's seven wins over current top 25 RPI ball clubs are ninth-most in the country.
- Additionally, the Tigers' 20 total games (7-13 record) against current top 25 RPI teams are tied for second-most in the NCAA, trailing only UCLA's 23 combined matchups against similar foes.
- With eight games remaining on the 2017 regular season schedule, Mizzou will continue to have its hands full with LSU and Ole Miss. In this week's RPI rankings, the Tigers from Baton Rouge check-in at No. 13 in the country, while the Rebels place No. 27.
Mizzou's Feast or Famine Offense This Season
- Mizzou has possessed a feast or famine offense all year long. While the Tigers' .291 team batting average only ranks eighth in the SEC this season, their 51 home runs (1st), 587 total bases (1st), 1.06 home runs per game (2nd), 64 doubles (4th), .471 slugging percentage (4th) and 1.33 doubles per game (5th) all rank top 5 respectively in the conference.
- This past weekend vs. Kentucky, the Tigers added two more home runs to their season total. Now with 51 total trips to #BombCity this season, the 2017 Mizzou Tigers rank tied for 10th all-time in single-season home runs.
- Leading the homer brigade this year for Mizzou has been freshman Braxton Burnside. The first-year Tiger delivered two home runs this past week (April 17-23), including her third grand slam of the season with a walk-off blast against SEMO.
- Burnside enters this weekend's trip to LSU with 48 RBI on the season. She's only nine RBI from breaking the single-season Mizzou Softball freshman RBI record, which was originally set by current Tiger Amanda Sanchez (56 RBI in 2015).
