- In the teams' last meeting, the Tigers claimed an 11-4 victory on April 19, 2016, in Iowa City, Iowa.
Baxter and Baumgartner Shine at #1 Florida
- Despite Mizzou's two losses this past weekend at No. 1 Florida (March 11-12), a pair of Tiger hurlers shined in the circle. Senior Cheyenne Baxter and sophomore Danielle Baumgartner each did an outstanding job limiting the Gators' bats over the two-day stretch.
- In the series opener, Baumgartner entered in relief and posted 2.2 shutout innings while allowing only one hit.
- The Mexico, Mo., native has recently turned into the form Tigers fans witnessed during her stellar 2016 freshman campaign. In fact, over her past five appearances, she has produced a 0.57 ERA with 12 Ks over 12.1 IP.
- On Sunday evening, Baxter turned in one of the finest starts in her black and gold career. After allowing an earned run in the opening frame, she responded in a big way by shutting down the Gators' offense the final five innings.
- Overall, the Norborne, Mo., native pitched 6.0 effective innings and allowed only five hits, one earned run and one walk.
