COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball senior Ali Kreklow (Columbia, Mo.) was one of 13 student-athletes named to the 2017 Southeastern Conference Volleyball Community Service Team, announced Wednesday (Nov. 29) by the league office.

The 15th annual SEC Volleyball Community Service Team highlights a student-athlete from each institution who gives back to their community in superior service efforts. The full SEC press release is available here.

"We're very happy for Ali to be recognized for this year's SEC Community Service award," Mizzou Volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "She spends a lot of time in the service of others, which is admirable, and does it because she cares about the well-being of others, not simply to have something to put on her resume."

Kreklow has completed over 160 community service hours over her four-year career at Mizzou (2014-17). She has participated in countless community service events around the Mid-Missouri area, including the University of Missouri Children's Hospital, Columbia Elementary School Open House, Mizzou Volleyball Black & Gold Youth Clinic and the Mizzou Athletics "Mizzou Moves" program.

Kreklow has worked with Crossing Kids and served as a Jefferson City Youth Volleyball Coach. She has made Provisional Living visits, worked at the Mizzou Volleyball Columbia Mall Meet & Greet and volunteered as a Columbia Elementary School Reading Buddy.

A three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient, Kreklow has been named to the University of Missouri Dean's List three times. She's also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the leadership and honor society in the University of Missouri College of Education. Kreklow also recently earned Phase I Distinguished Pre-Service Teacher accolades.
