FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – On an afternoon that saw Drew Lock shatter both the Mizzou and Southeastern Conference single-season passing TD record, it was Tucker McCann's 19-yard field goal with 5 seconds left that propelled Mizzou (7-5, 4-4 SEC) to a 48-45 win over Arkansas on Saturday in the Battle Line Rivalry presented by Shelter Insurance.
Lock threw five touchdown passes on the day; his 43 passed both Chase Daniel for Mizzou's single-season record of 38 set in 2008, and the SEC record of 40 set by Kentucky's Andre Woodson in 2007.
The win caps an amazing finish to the 2017 regular season; after beginning 1-5, the Tigers won six straight to not only again become bowl-eligible, but also just the fourth Power-5 school to finish 7-5 after losing five of its first six.
Top Tigers
- Mizzou junior QB Drew Lock threw for five touchdowns Friday, moving his season total to 42, the new SEC single-season record. He passed Kentucky's Andrew Woodson (40 in 2007) and moved past Mizzou legend Chase Daniel for Mizzou's single-season record. Daniel had 39 in 2008.
- Lock is also the first SEC QB this century to throw for three or more TDs in eight consecutive games.
- Junior WR Emanuel Hall turned in his third multi-TD performance of the season, with both catches coming from 50+ yards. He has reset his career-highs for TDs in a season (eight) and is now third in the nation with six catches for 50+ yards.
- Freshman TE Albert Okwuegbunam hauled in his 10th and 11th TD grabs of the season, resetting Mizzou's freshman receiving TD record, passing Jeremy Maclin. He leads all TEs and all freshmen nationally in TD grabs this season.
- Senior WR J'Mon Moore hauled in 10 catches for 160 yards, moving his career total to 2,412, fourth-best in school history. He passed Jeremy Maclin.
- Senior RB Ish Witter ran for more than 100 yards for the third consecutive game. He is the first Mizzou back to do so since Damarea Crockett did so in his final two games of 2016 and the first game of 2017.
- Freshman CB Adam Sparks hauled in his second interception in as many weeks, resetting Mizzou's true freshman record.
- Senior DE Marcell Frazier had a monster game with a career-high eight tackles, totaling 2.5 tackles for loss with a sack, a QB hurry and a career-high three pass deflections.
