Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Mizzou Men's Basketball had four Tigers score in double figures, but it was not enough to defeat Arkansas on the road Saturday night, as Mizzou yielded a 92-73 result to the Razorbacks. Junior forward Jordan Barnett (St. Louis, Mo.) led head coach Kim Anderson's squad in scoring for the third time in the seven games he has appeared in this season, recording 14 points (6-of-11 FG, 2-of-5 3PT, 0-of-1 FT) and six rebounds.
Two Tigers scored 13 points, with sophomore guard Jordan Geist (Fort Wayne, Ind.) getting the majority of his points from the free throw line (3-of-6 FG, 0-of-3 3PT, 7-of-11 FT). Sophomore guard Terrence Phillips (Orange County, Calif.) shot well from the outside, raining in three three-pointers (3-of-10 FG, 3-of-8 3PT, 4-of-4 FT) while shooting perfectly from the charity stripe.
The Tigers' top trio of scorers in the Arkansas game are all averaging double-figures in scoring through Mizzou's first four conference games, with Barnett leading the way at 16.8 points per game. Phillips has averaged 14.3 points per game, all while coming off the bench in SEC play. Geist has posted a 10.3-points-per-game average.
Mizzou trailed 50-36 at the halftime break, having shot 29.4 percent from the field (10-of-34 FG). Resiliency showed in the second half, as the Tigers hit on 12-of-23 shot attempts for a 52.2-percent conversion rate.
Second half action was highlighted by the play of sophomore forward Kevin Puryear (Blue Springs, Mo.), who scored all 11 of his points after the break. Puryear finished game with four rebounds, as well.
Mizzou is back on the road Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Alabama. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on ESPNU
