COLUMBIA, Mo. - For many football players, the opening of fall training camp in many ways signifies a new beginning. Hopes of earning a spot on the two-deep depth chart, a chance to earn your way into starting lineup, or a chance to reshape a team's legacy are the things that fuel so many players and coaches during this time of the year. But for some, fall camp signifies another chance to play a game that they fell in love with after it was nearly taken from them due to injury. The latter applies to Mizzou junior DT Terry Beckner, Jr., the nation's former No. 1 overall recruit.

Beckner, who by all accounts is a bona fide NFL-type talent, has fallen victim to separate knee injuries in each of his first two seasons with Mizzou. But his love of the game, and a special bond with Mizzou's head athletic trainer Rex Sharp, has Beckner back on the practice fields for #MIZCAMP17. Hours upon hours of rehabilitation and hard work have Beckner back atop the depth chart moving into the second day of fall practice. Below is a story about Beckner's incredible resolve an work ethic along with comments from Sharp, who was there to push him to be his best every step of the way.
