COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball senior Kirsten Mack (Riverside, Calif.) was named to the 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-District softball team, announced Thursday by the organization's office. Mack becomes the 22nd individual student-athlete and 29th all-time Mizzou Softball honoree to receive the award.
Academic excellence is nothing new to the Riverside, Calif., native, as she's garnered three consecutive Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll recognitions in her career. Mack is a Health Science major at the University of Missouri and has tallied an impressive 3.90 career GPA.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. Mack is only one of 11 student-athletes on this year's NCAA Division I/District Six First Team Academic All-District squad.
Following her First Team Academic All-District recognition, Mack will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot. First, second and third team All-America honorees will be announced in late May.
