2017 Highlights - @MizzouGym Earns Highest-Ever Ranking

Fresh off its record-breaking score of 196.225 in the 2017 season opener, the Mizzou gymnastics team made history once again on Jan. 9. The Tigers clocked in at No. 6 in the RoadtoNationals.com national rankings, surpassing the program's old high of No. 7, set on Jan. 30, 2006.

Mizzou, which entered the season at No. 19 in the preseason rankings, shot up to No. 6 following wins over Illinois and Ball State in the season opener. In the meet, Missouri tallied a score of 196.225, the highest season-opening tally in Tiger history, besting the previous best of 195.350 set in 2016 and 2004.

National rankings are based overall season average score for the first few weeks of the season until switching to Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) in mid-February.
