COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving programs, ranked sixth and 12th nationally, respectively, will take on the No. 8/11 Louisville Cardinals, Friday, Jan. 6 - Saturday, Jan. 7 in a two-day meet at the Ralph Wright Natatorium in Louisville, Kentucky. Competition gets underway at 1 p.m. CT on Friday with diving, followed by swimming at 2 p.m. CT. The meet will conclude at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday.
The Mizzou diving programs are coming off a recent three-day meet at the Tennessee Diving Invite, where the Tigers compiled 11 top-11 finishes. Junior Kendra Kieser and sophomore Kyle Goodwin paced the squad with second-place performances, Kieser on 1-meter and Goodwin on 3-meter. Goodwin's 3-meter finals tally of 399.40 points was a new personal high for the sophomore and moved him into fourth-place all-time at Mizzou on the board. Additionally, redshirt senior Lauren Reedy earned three top-seven finishes, as she placed third on 3-meter, sixth on platform and seventh on 1-meter.
The swimming team has been idle since the November Mizzou Invite, where the squad combined to break 10 school records and set four NCAA automatic qualifying times. Most notably were seniors Andrew Sansoucie and Fabian Schwingenschlogl, who notched nation-leading times in the 100 fly and 100 breast, respectively, to break their own school marks. Schwingenschlogl's 100 breast time of 51.07 was also faster than his NCAA national title-winning time from a season ago.
Seventeen different Tigers are ranked in the top 25 of their respective events coming into this weekend, including five who rank within the top 10.
