FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Mizzou Track and Field finished the first day of competition at the Razorback Invitational on Friday with three top-10 finishes and one personal record set. Redshirt freshman Patrick Kunza (Wentzville, Mo.) recorded a personal record in the weight throw with a 10th place finish.
Kunza and sophomore Karissa Roman (Kewanee, Ill.) highlighted the day for the Tigers in the field events by earning top-10 finishes. Kunza set his personal record with a throw of 17.99m (59-0.25), while Roman finished sixth in the high jump with a jump 1.68m (5-6).
In the distance medley relay, Mizzou's team of sophomore Thomas George (Gloucester, England), redshirt junior Jerrad Mason (Bridgetown, Barbados), redshirt junior Ben Goodman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and redshirt senior Luca Russo (Kent, England) finished fifth. The squad checked in at 9:54.80.
In the 200m dash, sophomore Kahmari Montgomery (Plainfield, Ill.) finished 12th with a time of 21.41, while senior LaQuisha Jackson (Chattanooga, Tenn.) finished 15th for the women with a time of 23.95.
Mizzou will be back at it again tomorrow at the Razorback Invitational, beginning at 10:15 a.m. CT with the 3,000m run. SEC Network will pick up coverage from the meet beginning at 1 p.m. CT.
