MIZZOU TAKES TWO-OF-THREE FROM #16 TENNESSEE
- The Tigers earned two more Top 25 ranked wins this past weekend (April 1-3), claiming the series over SEC foe No. 16 Tennessee at University Field.
- Mizzou now has five Top 25 ranked victories already this season (No. 6 Alabama, No. 16 Tennessee (twice), No. 17 Arizona State and No. 22 Baylor).
- The strong showing against the Volunteers kept Mizzou inside the latest Top 10 NCAA RPI rankings as released on Monday, April 4. The Tigers check in at No. 9 this week, marking one-of-four SEC teams ranked within the Top 10 NCAA RPI.
CRANE LAYING THE WOOD IN HER SENIOR SEASON
- In her first three years in Mizzou black and gold, senior Emily Crane already solidified herself as one of the program's all-time greatest hitters. Known primarily for her doubles and high batting average, Crane entered the 2016 campaign with a career .375 average (182 hits).
- Not only has Crane kept up her ridiculously high average (currently .389), but she has enjoyed a tremendous surge in power this season for the Tigers. Heading into her senior campaign, Crane had tallied 10 career home runs and a career .518 slugging percentage. With a new mindset and approach at the plate, Crane has exploded for 10 home runs alone in 2016 and an eye-popping .821 slugging percentage.
- Also this season, Crane's nine doubles are only seven away from matching her career high, her 35 RBI are only three away from setting a new single-season best and her 78 total bases are just 10 away from setting a new career high as well.
