
Ullestad Named Semifinalist for Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year

Ullestad has starred for Indian Hills Community College the past two seasons
NORMAN, Okla. - Mizzou Men's Golf incoming recruit Trevor Ullestad (Jewell, Iowa) was named a semifinalist for the 2016 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year, presented by Barbasol, it was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The soon-to-be Tiger junior has compiled an average round score of 72.68 during his sophomore campaign for Indian Hills Community College. He is currently considered the 10th-best head-to-head golfer at the NJCAA level, according to Golfstat.
Ullestad was a standout for Indian Hills during his 2014-15 freshman season in which he helped lead the squad to a Division I NJCAA title. Ullestad placed 16th overall at the 2015 NJCAA Championship. He was named an NJCAA All-American for his performance.
Nicklaus Award recipients will be announced June 2 with the honor presented by Jack Nicklaus at a ceremony during the final round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
In addition to receiving the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award, the five recipients will compete in the Barbasol Shootout for an exemption into the PGA TOUR's Barbasol Championship July 14-17 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Grand National in Opelika, Alabama. The Barbasol Shootout will be held Saturday, June 4 at the storied Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio, the same club where Nicklaus learned the game of golf as a young boy.
