COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Women's Basketball finishes a two-game homestand on Friday at Mizzou Arena when the Tigers face Missouri State for the fifth consecutive season. The matchup with the Lady Bears tips off at 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network Plus.
- Mizzou is 11-2 against in-state foes during the Robin Pingeton coaching era.
- The last time Mizzou lost at home to Missouri State was Dec. 10, 2003. The Tigers won last year's season-opening meeting by 16 points.
- Mizzou continues to be strong at Mizzou Arena in nonconference play. The Tigers have won 27 consecutive nonconference games at home.
- Mizzou's winning streak in nonconference regular season games at Mizzou Arena has swelled to 41 consecutive victories with the last defeat occurring on December 5, 2010, against Northwestern in the Big 12/Big Ten Challenge.
- Despite having only two true forwards see the floor this season, Mizzou has either outrebounded opponents or tied opponents on the glass in six of its seven games. The Tigers are 5-1 in those contests.
DOING IT ALL
- After posting 17 points, nine assists and seven rebounds against Georgia Tech, sophomore sensation Sophie Cunningham followed with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in Tuesday's win over Western Illinois.
- Cunningham is the first Mizzou player since 1999 to record at least 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists in back-to-back games.
- Cunningham is the only player in the SEC that ranks in the top 20 in scoring (14.6 PPG), top six in assists (4.7 APG) and top 15 in defensive rebounding (4.7 RPG).
- Mizzou is one of three teams in the SEC to have multiple players record multiple double-doubles this season. Cunningham now has six double-doubles in her career.
ONE MORE ASSIST
- Redshirt senior guard Lianna Doty is one assist shy of becoming the third Tiger in program history to reaching the 400-career assist mark. The last Mizzou player to do so was Kerensa Barr in 2003.
- Through three games, Doty is averaging 3.7 assists per game, which ranks ninth in the SEC. She and Cunningham are one of two duos from the same squad ranking in the top ten in the league in assists.
- With 399 career assists, Doty tops active SEC players in career dimes. She has 74 more assists than any other active SEC player.
- Doty is also excelling defensively. She ranks third in career steals among active SEC players with 161 swipes. She recorded a career-high seven steals in the season-opener vs. Abilene Christian.
PORTER IN A GROOVE
- As Mizzou's lone forward averaging more than 20 minutes per game, sophomore Cierra Porter has stepped up and dominated down low for the Tigers, averaging 14.0 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per contest.
- She is coming off a career-night in which she racked up 13 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and a career-high five blocked shots. She is the only player in the SEC to post a 15-rebound, 5-block performance in a game this season. She now ranks second in the league in total blocked shots with 13 swats.
- Porter is one of two players in the SEC ranking in the top 20 in the league in scoring and top five in the league in rebounding.
SCOUTING MISSOURI STATE
- Missouri State is coming off a home-opening loss to Little Rock on Monday.
- The Lady Bears have battled through a tough early slate. Mizzou will be the fourth power five opponent Missouri State has faced in its first seven games to begin the season.
- The Lady Bears are led by Liza Fruendt, who is averaging 14.0 points in 26 minutes per game this season. Missouri State has six players averaging at least six points per contest.
- Missouri State shines at the free throw line, shooting 77.6 percent thus far from the charity stripe.
LAST TIME OUT
- Mizzou downed Western Illinois, 71-68, in a tight battle on Tuesday at Mizzou Arena. Mizzou used clutch free throws and defensive stops in the final minute to prevail over the Leathernecks, who made 11 three-pointers in the contest.
- Porter tallied her third double-double of the season and reached double figures for the seventh time in seven games in the win. Cunningham recorded a double-double of her own with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Cunningham scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half to lead Mizzou to a victory.
- Freshman Jordan Chavis recorded 11 points for her third double-digit performance in the last four games. She also matched her career-high with four rebounds.
