Santos and Ismail Reach Semifinals of ITA Central Regional Doubles Draw

COLUMBIA, MO. – Mizzou Tennis wrapped up play at the ITA Central Regional in Minneapolis on Sunday. Senior Bea Machado Santos and junior Amina Ismail were the lone Tigers competing on day four of the event. The duo reached the semifinals of the doubles draw before bowing out of the tournament.
Santos and Ismail rattled off three consecutive victories to make it to Sunday's quarterfinals. The pairing downed Arkansas' Mia Jurasic and Ana Oparenovic in the morning session, 8-5, to advance to the final four of the tournament. In the afternoon semifinals, Santos and Ismail fell to Kansas' duo of Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum and Nina Khmelnitckaia, 3-6, 2-6.
Mizzou will have two weekends off before competing in the Big Green Invitational. The event, hosted by Dartmouth, will take place Nov. 4-6 in Hanover, N.H.
