Andrea Artimedi serves as Missouri's sole senior and has spent all four years as a Tiger. Artimedi came to Columbia in 2022 from Roseto degli Abruzzi, Italy. In 2024-25, she had a 10-9 singles record, featuring conference wins against No. 22 Florida, No. 55 Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. The student-athlete was also named to the CSC Academic All-District team.
This season, Artimedi picked up conference singles wins against South Carolina and Arkansas. Learn more about the senior below:
- How does it feel going into your final season as a Mizzou Tiger?
- "This is a hard question for me. I've been at Mizzou my entire college career, so this place will always be my home away from home. I have a lot of mixed feelings. It's sad that this part of my life, my college career, all the friends I've made here, and just in general the people I've gotten to meet and the experiences I've gotten to live here, are going to be part of the past. But I'm also excited to see what I can do and what comes next for me."
- What is the most memorable win in your career thus far?
- "I would have to say the clinch in the match against Mississippi State, my junior year, so last season. We had a lot of pressure in that match because we knew that we could get it done, but we knew it was going to be close. When I was able to win the match point and clinch the match, I had the entire team coming up to me, running and hugging me, and that's a memory I will never forget."
- What does it mean to be an upperclassman and a leader on this team?
- "I would say it's super fun and sometimes challenging to relate with someone who is four years younger than you, but I just love being there for my teammates, and I remember how much I looked up to the seniors, especially my first year at Mizzou. I'm just super grateful that I can be a role model for them and I can help them with anything they need."
- Being an international player, how have your first three years here shaped you into the player you are today?
- "I would say they have shaped a lot of the person I have become. I grew a lot as a person before I grew as an athlete, and I think now I'm combining the two things together so I can be the best person I can possibly be. I'm thankful for this place and all the people I have met along the way."
- How does the Italian food in Columbia, Missouri, compare to that in Italy?
- "Well, I would say I'm a really critical person, especially when we talk about Italy and Italian food, so there's never going to be a place that feels like home. I'd have to say there are a couple of spots that I really like, and we often go there with the team, which I'm glad we have because I really like pizza. They're good, but nothing is like home."
- Do you have any plans for life after college?
- "That's what I've been trying to figure out for the last few months. I would say I'd like to get a master's degree in sports nutrition or dietetics because my goal is to be a sports dietitian, and I'm just working towards that right now."
- What is something everyone should know about Italy?
- "I think that Italy around the world is pretty well known, which is good, because of our food, our architecture, and our history. I would say the reason why Italy is just Italy is the people. The people in Italy are just so fun and super social, and I think people should keep that in mind when going there and meet some people and friends."
- Favorite hidden gem in Italy?
- "I don't think I can just name one, there's so much in Italy that is worth seeing. My favorite thing to do when I go back is during sunset, just sitting in front of the beach, looking at the water, and having a pizza or a snack with your friends, and music is just something that I miss every day."
