LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Tigers had an exciting close to the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet weekend on Saturay (January 23), highlighted by a stellar school record performance from freshman Kahmari Montgomery and a set of top-ten ranked performances in the NCAA thus far this season.  In all, the Tigers walked away from the weekend with one new school record, four All-Time Top Ten marks, and eight PR's.

The PR's starting stacking up from the start, as senior Danielle Williams got the competition going for the Tigers with a 12.00m (39-4.50) personal best to finish eighth overall in the triple jump.  Already the No. 6 performer in school history for the event, Williams will retain her spot in the record books.

Also taking to the runway for the triple jump was the duo of senior Tony Carodine and sophomore John Warren.  Focusing solely on their primary event for the first time this season, both landed just off of their personal bests to place in the top five of the field.  Warren led for the black and gold with a third-place finish in 15.73 (51-7.25), while Carodine closed in fourth with a best mark of 15.55m (51-0.25).

On the track, freshman Kahmari Montgomery certainly highlighted the day with his explosive season debut in the 400m dash.  A strong closing 150m earned him a third-place overall finish and the fastest time in school history, 47.33.  Montgomery dethrones Rob Collier on the record board, who has held the record for the 400m dash (47.51) since the Big 8 Championships in 1988.  He also now ranks within the top ten in the NCAA for the event and is second in the SEC thus far this season.

Sophomore Karissa Schweizer also laid down a top-ten ranked performance in the NCAA, finishing second in the mile with a PR time of 4:42.15.  She will maintain her No. 5 position in the Mizzou history books for the event, and now has taken over the leading position in the current SEC rankings.

Other highlights from the day include the women's 400m dash, where junior Valerie Thames returned to the track after a stellar 400m leg during Friday night's DMR.  She placed within the top ten of the field for her indoor debut in the open 400m, crossing in 55.70 for ninth overall and claiming the No. 7 position in the Mizzou All-Time Top Ten.  Crossing just behind her was senior Sandrae Farquharson, who tied her PR (55.77) in her first 400m competition since the 2015 indoor season.

A pair of PR's in the 3000m run rounded out the individual performances for the weekend, as junior Teylar Adelsberger and sophomore both clocked career-bests to finish fourth and 12th, respectively.  This was the first 3000m competition for Adelsberger since the 2015 SEC Championships, where she clocked her previous PR of 9:56.17.  She bumped that time down a few notches with her 9:37.20 crossing Saturday afternoon.  For Batliner, the McCravy Memorial Meet marked a second-consecutive PR performance in the 3000m, after she defended her home track with a 10:13.90 performance at last week's Missouri Invitational.

Closing out the weekend's events was the squad of senior Sandrae Farquharson, freshman Maya Cody, junior Sydney Wells, and junior Valerie Thames in the women's 4x400m relay.  An exciting final leg by Thames cruised the Tigers through with a first-place finish in the second section, eighth overall, in 3:45.00.

Next up for the Tigers is the Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., from February 5-6.  For the latest on Mizzou Track & Field, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
