ZOU NOTES
• Mizzou has started the season 10-0 for the first time in program history. With the win at Colorado on Dec. 12, the Tigers moved past the 1982-83 team that started 9-0.
• The school record winning streak is 13 games from Jan. 30 - March 9, 1985. The last time the Tigers won 10 in a row was during a 12-game streak from Nov. 22, 2005 - Jan. 11, 2006. The 2005-06 team finished 21-10 and was the last to reach the NCAA Tournament.
• The Tigers overcame a 7-point halftime deficit (47-40) at Colorado on Dec. 12 to earn a 79-75 victory. Junior guard Sierra Michaelis (Mercer, Mo.) and freshman forward Cierra Porter (Columbia, Mo.) both scored a game-high 21 points. It marked the first time this season that Mizzou has had multiple 20-point scorers in the same game. Michaelis drained a career-high five 3-pointers during the first half alone.
• In just her fourth career game on Nov. 22 vs. Wake Forest, Sophie Cunningham set a new school record with 42 points, which is the second-highest single-game total in NCAA Division I this season. Cunningham broke a nearly 30-year-old record of 41 points that was established by Renee Kelly on Jan. 25, 1986 vs. Oklahoma.
NONCONFERENCE NOTABLES
• Mizzou head coach Robin Pingeton signed a new 5-year contract through the 2019-20 season that was announced on Oct. 2. She is going for her 90th victory as Tigers head coach on Sunday afternoon.
• The Tigers rank eighth nationally in free throw shooting percentage (77.5), 11th in scoring margin (+23.7), 13th in rebounding margin (+12.1) and 22nd in field goal percentage (46.2).
• Mizzou ranks 32nd in the country in scoring offense (77.9 points per game) and scoring defense (54.2 points per game).
• Sophie Cunningham ranks 22nd nationally in free throw percentage (88.6), converting 30 of her first 34 career attempts. She is also ranked 40th in the country in field goal percentage (56.5) as she is 52-for-92 from the floor. Although she does not quite meet the minimum of two made 3-pointers per game, with three more triples, Cunningham's 3-point percentage (50.0) would tie for 10th in all of Division I.
• The Tigers have played Lamar twice previously, winning 106-57 on Nov. 27, 1995 at the Hearnes Center and 76-61 in Beaumont, Texas, on Jan. 7, 1982.
ABOUT LAMAR...
