COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou soccer senior defender Candace Johnson (Dallas, Texas) was named to the 2015 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's All-South Region second team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced. The teams were voted on my members of the NSCAA.

Johnson becomes the ninth Tiger in program history to earn a spot on at least the All-Region second team and the fourth straight season a Mizzou player has made the list.

A defender, Johnson also claimed All-SEC first team honors in 2015. As a senior this past season, Johnson played every minute in 2015 and anchored a Tiger defense that set a program record for fewest goals allowed in a season (17) and ranked all-time in goals against average (0.84), both of which lead the SEC. On the offensive end, Johnson tallied two goals and two assists for a career high six points.

In her four-year Tiger career, Johnson started 79 of the 80 games she played at center back, while playing every minute of 74 of those matches. She compiled six goals and two assists for 14 points.
