Former @MizzouMensGolf All-America Scholar shot a 5-under final round on Monday
JACKSON, Miss. - Former Mizzou Men's Golf All-America Scholar Peter Malnati won his first PGA Tour event on Monday, Nov. 9, using a 5-under-par final round (67) to claim the Sanderson Farms Championship. Malnati edged out William McGirt and David Toms by one stoke, making par on his final three holes to keep his lead.
Malnati maintained his focus throughout the event, which was delayed five times due to rain, lightning or darkness. He earned this opportunity at the Sanderson Farms event after finishing ninth on the Web.com Tour last season.
The former Tiger, who dominated the links for Mizzou from 2007-10, is the first Mizzou alum to win a PGA Tour title since Mizzou Athletics Hall of Famer Stan Utley (1989 Chattanooga Classic).
