The Mizzou Tennis Family is excited to celebrate the engagment of senior Kelli Hine and her new fiancé, Ben Ritchie. Ritchie proposed to Hine on the MKT Trail behind the Mizzou Tennis Complex on Friday evening. The couple met at church more than four years ago in their hometown of New Braunfels, Texas, and have been dating since senior year of high school.
With the help of Mizzou Tennis coaches and student-athletes, Ritchie set up the surprise of a lifetime for Hine at the team's facility. Hine arrived at the Mizzou Tennis Complex after dinner and watched a video that Ritchie made in the Tigers' team lounge. Then, Hine was led down the trail that leads away from the facility, where pictures of the couple were placed alongside the pathway. Ritchie, who was waiting at the edge of the bridge behind the complex, proposed to his longtime girlfiend. Hine of course said yes.

Hine is entering her senior year with the Mizzou Tennis program after posting her best season yet in 2014-15, finishing the campaign ranked No. 125 in the final ITA National Singles Rankings. She is on pace to graduate with a degree in Nutrional Sciences in the spring of 2017. Ritchie is one of just five Texas A&M Yell Leaders, a coveted and respected group of men that represent the university's official spirit organization. Ritchie and current University of Missouri Chancellor, Dr. R. Bowen Loftin, have been good friends since Loftin's days as an Aggie.
