White Named Senior Associate A.D. for Development

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics announced Brian White has joined its leadership team to serve in the role of Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development on Friday.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri Department of Athletics announced Brian White has joined its leadership team to serve in the role of Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development on Friday. White comes to Mizzou as the department's chief development officer, having most recently served as Associate Athletic Director for Development at the United States Military Academy.

White, 31, began oversight of Army West Point's athletic fundraising in October 2014 and also served as the department's chief development officer. He led the A Club's fundraising initiatives, securing donations for Army's annual fund, endowments and capital projects. White managed a portfolio of more than 100 donors nationwide while at Army.

"Brian is regarded as one of the bright up-and-coming administrators in college athletics and has been successful at several Division I institutions. We have ambitious goals for our development unit, and Brian will be a valuable asset and leader for that department. Our supporters are amongst some of the best in the country, and he will help galvanize that support to help us build on a proud athletic tradition."

In his role at Mizzou, White will establish and lead a comprehensive development plan for all giving areas. He will provide leadership to Mizzou's development unit and will additionally have oversight of the athletic department's external engagement team, helping develop short-term and long-term plans for Tiger Scholarship Fund donor retention and growth as well as developing the plan for an athletic department capital campaign.

"I could not be more excited about the leadership in place at the University of Missouri, and especially the chance to work alongside Mack Rhoades and Wren Baker, who I have tremendous respect for. We're especially thrilled to be able to raise our family in Columbia. I am excited to get started with the Tiger Scholarship Fund staff, as well as start to build relationships with our loyal Mizzou fans and supporters."

White will also be tasked with serving as the athletic department's liaison to the University of Missouri's Advancement Office. Additionally, he will work to establish benchmarks, metrics and calendars to track and strengthen developmental success.

Prior to his arrival at Army West Point, White worked as an Associate Athletic Director for Development at the University of Tulsa and oversaw all athletic fundraising in 2014. He spent 2012-14 at Louisiana Tech University in the role of Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, where he oversaw athletic marketing, ticketing and fundraising.

While at Louisiana Tech, White participated in a $20 million fundraising project for the football program's end zone facility, as well as a $1.2 million video board. He also helped increase men's basketball season ticket revenue by 22 percent and 65 percent for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, respectively.

Before embarking on his path in athletics development, White worked for IMG College as an account executive. His stops from 2007-12 included roles as Senior Account Executive for Razorback Sports Properties and as Account Executive for Cal Sports Properties.

White comes from a family with deep roots in college athletics. His father, Kevin, is the Director of Athletics at Duke, while his older brother, Danny, is Buffalo's Director of Athletics. A second brother, Mike, is head coach for Florida's men's basketball team.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, White earned a Bachelor's degree in sociology in 2006. He received a Master's in business administration from Ohio University in 2008.

White will be joined in Columbia by his wife, Paige, and a newborn girl, Callahan.
