COLUMBIA, Mo. – In addition to their stellar athletic season, the Mizzou gymnastics team excelled in the classroom as well during the 2014-15 year.
The team's cumulative GPA for the academic year was its highest t since the 2011 season, highlighted by a 3.43 team GPA in the spring semester. Additionally, eight Tigers posted cumulative GPAs over 3.5 in 2014-15.
In March, senior Katelyn Trevino was named the 2015 SEC Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year to become the first Tiger gymnast to earn the award from the conference. Classmate Becca Johnson also claimed a spot on the SEC Community Service Team for her involvement in the Columbia Community.
Athletically, Missouri qualified for its first NCAA Regional since the 2012 season and ended the year ranked 21st in the final national rankings. The finish was a full 20 spots ahead of last year's finish, marking the biggest jump in the nation in 2015.
