GAME NOTES

Mizzou is now 21-11 on the year with a 7-4 record in conference play.

In the first inning, Brett Peel hit a leadoff single to extend his reached base safely streak to 29 games - a team high. Peel is three games away from tying an all-time Mizzou record.

Brett Bond hit his team-leading fourth homerun in the bottom of the second inning. Bond, a switch hitter, has hit three from the right side of the plate.

Zach Lavy also hit a homerun in the bottom of the second inning. Bond and Lavy's homeruns were separated by just one batter. It was just the third time this year that Mizzou has had multiple homeruns in a game. The previous two were at Georgia (3/14) and at TAMUCC (2/21).

Zach Lavy hit his second homerun of the day in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was the first multi-homerun game from a Mizzou Tiger since Blake Brown hit two against North Dakota on March 14, 2012.

Lavy's four runs batted in on the day are a career high.

Lester increased his team-leading RBI total with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the third inning. Lester drove in his 23rd and 24th runs on the season. It is Lester's sixth game this year in which he recorded multiple RBI.

Brett Bond collected two hits on the day, tying him with Jake Ring and Ryan Howard for the team lead in multi-hit games. Bond, Ring, and Howard all have 10-multi-hit games on the year.

Freshman pitcher Tanner Houck allowed the first hit of the game in the top of the fourth inning. Houck retired 10 consecutive batters to open the game.

After allowing that hit in the fourth, Houck then retired the next 11 batters. Houck finished with a line of eight innings pitched, four hits allowed, and just one earned run.

The Tigers plated 10 runs on the day, making it the third time this year they have scored double digit runs in a game. The previous two occasions were against Iona (2/15) and Truman State (3/10)

Mizzou improves to 10-1 on the season when scoring six or more runs in a game. Saturday's win marks Mizzou's fourth win over a top-10 opponent and its second win over a top-5 opponent.

Mizzou is now 14-4 when scoring first.

With Saturday's win, Mizzou is now 10-1 on Saturdays.
