Meet Notes: Mizzou PDF

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou hits the road for its fourth away meet of the season when the team travels to Gainesville, Fla., on Friday, Feb. 13 to face the No. 4 Florida Gators at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT) at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. The meet will be broadcast live on SEC Network + and on tape delay on ESPN2 on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. CT, with Melissa Lee, Courtney Kupets and Suri Serano on the call.

TIGER TIDBITS


  • Most recently, the Tigers scored 195.150 against Kentucky (Feb. 6) and 194.550 against Lindenwood (Feb. 8) last weekend.
  • The Tigers have scored 49.000 or higher on vault in three consecutive meets for the first time since the 2010 season.
  • Missouri tallied a season best floor score of 49.150 vs. Lindenwood on Sunday.
  • Mizzou posted a season best 195.850 in the State of Missouri Meet on Jan. 30 as the Tigers picked up wins over Lindenwood (194.700) and SEMO (193.600). The team score was the highest for Missouri since the 2012 Big 12 Championship (March 24, 2012).
  • The Tigers also tallied season highs on vault (49.250), bars (49.150) in the tri-meet.
  • Freshman Shauna Miller led the way with six wins, including the all-around, vault, bars and floor crowns against Kentucky and Lindenwood. Classmate Kennedi Harris tied Miller for the floor win vs. the Wildcats. Against Lindenwood, freshman Becca Schugel claimed the first all-around title of her career after a 39.175. Also event winners were redshirt senior Katelyn Trevino (vault), Miller (bars and beam), sophomore Alyson Heimsath (beam) and Harris (floor).
  • Miller also tied Missouri's freshman vault record with a 9.950 against Kent State and Towson. The score included a 10.0 from one judge.
  • Head Coach Shannon Welker is in his second season at the helm of the Tiger program. Welker led Missouri to a 6-7 regular season mark a year ago and an RQS of 194.770.
  • 2015 marks the 35th season of the Mizzou gymnastics program, with the Tigers boasting an all-time regular season record of 376-304-1.
  • Freshman Shauna Miller was the first SEC Freshman of the Week honoree in 2015 to become the Tigers' first-ever SEC selection.
  • The March 6 home meet against Alabama will make history for the program, as the Tigers will compete at Mizzou Arena for the first time in the facility's 10-year history.
