Meet Notes: Mizzou |
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou gymnastics team continues its three-meet road stretch on Friday, Jan. 23 when the squad travels to Baton Rouge, La., to face No. 3 LSU at 7:30 p.m. The meet will be broadcast live on SEC Network + and tape delayed on SEC Network on Monday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. CT. Holly Rowe, Alicia Sacramone-Quinn and Ashley Lee will be on the call for the meet.
TIGER TIDBITS
- In a close loss to then-No. 7 Georgia on Jan. 16, the Tigers posted a season best score of 195.225, more than 1.3 points higher than their opening meet score of 193.900.
- The Tigers' vault (48.950) and beam (48.925) scores against the Gymdogs were higher than any score the team posted during the 2014 season on those events.
- Mizzou is just out the most recent Gyminfo top-25 poll at 27. The team also ranks 22nd on both vault and bars in the national rankings.
- Freshman Shauna Miller, who was the first SEC Freshman of the Week honoree in 2015, claimed her second consecutive all-around title at Georgia. She totaled a score of 39.200 against the Gymdogs after opening her college career with a 39.325. Miller stands as the only Mizzou gymnast to score at least a 39.200 in the all-around in her opening two meets.
- Miller also tied Missouri's freshman vault record with a 9.950 against Kent State and Towson. The score included a 10.0 from one judge.
- Freshman Shauna Miller was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on Jan. 13 after claiming the all-around, vault, bars and beam titles in the season opener. Miller's award marked the first time a Mizzou gymnast earned weekly honors from the SEC since the Tigers joined the league in 2012-13.

- Head Coach Shannon Welker is in his second season at the helm of the Tiger program. Welker led Missouri to a 6-7 regular season mark a year ago and an RQS of 194.770.
- 2015 marks the 35th season of the Mizzou gymnastics program, with the Tigers boasting an all-time regular season record of 373-302-1.
