Tigers On A Historical Hot Streak
Mizzou enters Thursday and Friday's Southern Scuffle with a perfect 12-0 record. Among the latest USA Today / NWCA Division I Coaches Poll, the Tigers' 12 victories leads the way in comparison to the other top teams in the country.
The Tigers' unblemished 12-0 start to the 2014-15 campaign marks 16 consecutive dual wins dating back to last season. The 16 straight victories marks the longest dual winning streak in Tiger Style program history, surpassing the mark of 15 consecutive wins by the 1967-68 Mizzou Tigers led by head coach Hap Whitney.
Individual Mizzou Grapplers Shining As Well
A little over the halfway point of the 2014-15 season, Mizzou still possesses five individual grapplers with perfect records. Sophomore J'den Cox (14-0), redshirt senior Drake Houdashelt (15-0), redshirt sophomore Lavion Mayes (15-0), redshirt freshman Willie Miklus (15-0), and redshirt senior Alan Waters (13-0) all look to continue their torrid starts to the season this week in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Don't Forget About Us!
Not far off from the five unblemished Tigers are a group of Mizzou grapplers who have also had outstanding seasons up to this point. Redshirt senior Johnny Eblen (11-2), redshirt senior Mikey England (13-3), sophomore Joey Lavallee (11-3), and redshirt sophomore Matt Manley (10-4) all have played crucial roles into the team's outstanding start.
